Introduction

I have made 2 good choices this year, first to buy an iphone, I can honestly say this was my best purchase for a 'looooong' time. Second good choice, to buy a case for my iphone. Whilst the iphone is a thing of beauty - this beauty needs to be protected.

I looked around for various cases, and the majority only protected the back and sides, and not the front. Sods law says if you drop an iphone it will land on the screen hence my quest for a case that will do the lot.

Contents

The case comes in a simple clear blister like packet

I was dreading opening this packet as most blister packs are very hard to open, and can be deadly! To my surprise simply removing the clear tape on either side was enough to get into the packet. Now to see what's inside.

What You Get

The contents of this case are very simple......

iPhone Case

The case even comes with cardboard cutout for that authentic look! The case itself has a nice soft feel to it, that feels almost like leather. Around the more prone areas, ie corners and face are harder areas of the case, that hopefull would protect the phone if dropped, and from everyday wear and tear. The rear of the case also has more protection to stop your from being screatch when lying on your desk etc. The back of the case has a hole cut in to the case, so when the ihone is in the case you can see the apple logo!

Installation

Putting the phone in the case is reasonably easy. The first part is to install the screen protector, by firstly cleaning the iphone screen with the supplied cleaner. Secondly you must stick the protector to your iphone, I would advise doing som dry runs and seeing how the screen protector lines up. Once your happy it'll fit, then you peel off the blue tag and stick it to the iphone screen. To remove any bubbles on the screen Otterbox have supplied a scrapper to push bubbles out.

Once the bubbles are out, then remove the red tag and the screen protector is on and complete, now simply slip your iphone into the case, and arrange it to give a nice fit.

Conclusion
The case from Otterbox is a very well made case - it feels nice and is very simple in design. There are many cases available, but not many that actually have 360° protection for your iphone. The Impact case has extra protection where your iphone needs it the most, including the screen. It has a nice feel, almost a leathery feel, that gives you a good grip and stops my iphone from sliding around on my car dashboard!
Installing your phone is a doddle, however I would adivse all to watch the video on how to install the screen protector, as there is a right and wrong wayof doing it. I'm not sure how long the stick side (blue) takes before it's not sticky anymore, or how many times it can be removed and re-stuck.
Pros
  • Very nice looking case, and feels strong
  • Screen protector
  • Extra support for prone areas
  • Lightweight.
Cons
  • Putting the screen protector on can be tricky.
